.01 REQUEST
Country Living Rentals owns several properties across Central Florida. They wanted a logo that showed what the houses actually looked like, so renters knew what they'd be getting.
.02 CONCEPTS
Drew a Southern Magnolia, a tree common in Gainesville, with a vintage ribbon and text wrapped around it.
Simple illustrated homes drawn in a row, with the name below.
Drew a detailed topographic map of the area surrounding the company name.
.03 THE WINNER
Rough Draft
Final Draft
The rough draft showed a row of simple, generic houses. It got the idea across, but it didn't look like their actual properties. Since all their houses share the same build, I photographed one property and traced it into an illustrated vector for the final. Details like the porch, steps, windows, and shrubs make it recognizable as their homes. I swapped the rounded trees for tall pines, and changed the side banners from "GVL" and "FL" to "EST. 2022." I paired it all with their existing fonts to bring the mark together.

.05 RESULT
We went through a few rounds to get the house illustration closer to the real thing. The client loved the final logo, which led to branding all five individual properties.
