.01 REQUEST
Bongo Golf is a mobile golf simulator company. They wanted branding that stuck with a golf theme without feeling generic. They needed two separate assets, a primary logo for branding and a standalone mascot for merchandise, not one combined mark.
.02 CONCEPTS
Vintage bongo illustration with golf ball dimples. Plus some vintage text to tie in the theme.
Bongo caddy mascot illustration between bold text.
Using the company's intials with golf clubs at the ends of the letter.

For the logo, the initials "bg" became the concept. Add club-like extensions to the letters, and they suggest the moment just before and just after a golf swing. The "b" holds the ball in front of it, ready to swing. The "g" shows the ball already gone. For the mascot, I illustrated a bongo, a type of deer, with clubs, giving Bongo Golf a distinct character to use across merchandise and marketing.

.05 RESULT
The client was thrilled the "bg" logo was simple and clever. It was one of four original concepts, and it captured his vision right away, quickly becoming his favorite asset. He also liked the bongo mascot, which now runs alongside the logo across the brand's merchandise.
